Please excuse me if this is an old topic online-I haven't seen this idea anywhere and it just kind of occurred to me the other day as I was watching Episode 2 for the umpteenth time. I mean, it may be far fetched, but I think that this might actually be true...

Oh and for the Star Wars fans...did you know that Lucas is going to have ANOTHER go round fiddling with the middle episodes (4,5,6) before he releases them on DVD??? AND that he is toying with the notion of sticking footage of Natalie Portman in a "flash-back" scenario into Return of the Jedi???? AND that he doesn't plan to release the original versions on DVD??? AND that Speilburg wanted desperately to direct one of the prequels but was turned down???

I don't understand this man...not one bit...sorry for the rant....

It is a well discussed topic on internet based movie forums about the whole Qui-Gon Jinn was evil. Just do a search to find a whole bunch of rants by people argueing for and against the idea.

As for the movies having new bits inserted this too has been floating around internet movie sites but the rumour of Natalie Portman appearing was debunked when she, herself confirmed that she hadnt made a deal for any scenes to be shot. You are right about Lucas not releasing the older versions of Star Wars. Although a lot of original fans love the originals for most the special editions are basically the same. Also Lucas stated that it was one of the reasons why he restored the originals in the first place so the source would be ready for DVD when the time came.

As for Spielberg wanting to direct one of the prequels this is one of those rumours that is never proved to be true or false and constantly raises it head with the original rumour floating around that he wanted to do one of the originals when they were being made.
