  1. I have been trying for about a week now every single way I have found to put a svcd format video onto dvd and can not seem to get it to work in any of my dvd players. I have did virtually everything and tried every way that I have read in all the forums on how to do this but still get a no disc message or no play message. I have also tried almost all authoring programs and other ways such as nero or prassi to burn a image etc.. Both of my dvd players play svcd backups on normal cdr media and dvdr backups on dvdr media but I cant seem to get the svcd to work on dvdr media. Is there something I can do in settings somewhere or anything else to make this work? Its driving me crazy! Thanks for any info.

  2. The player detects whether the media is CD or DVD, so that it knows what it's going to attempt to play. I'm not sure what the use is, to create an extended length SVCD maybe?

  3. I have tried everything also. This is what i ended up with. The dvdpatching software witch trickes your authoring program to thinking your svcd is a dvd compliant mpeg. Patch is there primarily because you need to reecode the audio to 48000hz. I would get good results 40% of the time.

When I reencode the mpeg I get near perfect results the two times i had problems I just had to reecode with different settings. I have done just over 10 svcd's and 3 vcd's in the past 2 weeks.

I have tried spruce, mydvd, reel dvd, dvd workshop, dvd moviefactory. So far spruce and dvd moviefactory work the best for me.
