Here`s a cheap fix for a Scan sc2000 & clones that will no longer read discs.
Remove the old drive unit, cut a hole in the front of the unit & fix an ide DVD drive, i got my Pioneer drive from my PC to fit, the connections are standard IDE & power connections. You have to cut away the metal plate from behind the LCD display inside the unit also.
It may not look as pretty but you could fit a black DVD drive to look a bit better. Another bonus is that the drive loads discs much faster than before, all the controls function as before & the picture quality for VCDs is actually better !
