    I can play vcds on my stand alone player at home, however people i know have borrowed my VCDs and are unable to play them on they're players even though they've had VCDs in the past that have played?

    Any thoughts?

    They paid too much for their DVD players. The more you pay, the less they tend to play, it seems. Strange - but true. 8)

    Yeah, I know about the Sony players, the amount of disks I've wasted for people with those players is unbelievable!

    a friend of mine is extremely proud of his Harman-Kardon dvd-player...
    he paid 499euro....
    and it doesn't support any kind of SVCD
