Ok, here goes...
Im ripping a wav from a divx file using virtualdub...the duration comes to 1:48:39 while the movie itself is 1:48:48. Im having problems with my audio being out of sync. Im fairly sure that this is what is causing it, and its frustrating me. I have tried two movies (Memento, and American Pie 2) and they both do the same thing. When I open the video file in VDub I get the common "improper VBR audio encoding blah blah blah" error.
Im at my wits end, Ive probably tried every solution on this board. The audio just REFUSES to be in sync. Im guessing its because the wav isnt even the same length as the film itself. Ugh.![]()

If the audio goes increasingly out of sync as the movie progresses than I don't know how to help you. But if the audio is out of sync the same amout throughout the entire movie than you can try to use the audio gap correct in tmpge. I think a neg number movies the audio up and pos number moves it down. Hope it works for you.

Click that "how to edit" link uover there on the left. There are several guides there (near the bottom) which might help you with audio synch woes.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
just save the audio as wav, make sure Full Processing is on as well. Then use the wav as your audio source.

like ViperXT said
save the audio stream to an UNCOMPRESSED wav file
then try to frameserve the original video w/virtualdub to tmpeg and using the uncompressed wav as audio
try a sample if its ok to the rest
