Hi Gang.

I am trying to copy and record imported pre-released cinima DVD titles to VHS PAL Format video tapes. You know the type, films that are produced prior to general release at the cinima, and can be purchased from oversea's outlets. Well, my brother in law travels allot, and purchases these style DVD titles, but will not allow me to keep them. I would love to make a personal copy backup of these titles, but can't, and if so, only in black and white format, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

TROUBLES EXPLAINED: The trouble I am having is simply that 95% of the imported DVD titles he offers me will only playback from DVD machine through video recorder in black and white, without any colour. The picture quality is fine, and so is the sound track, and there is no macro-vision to worry about, so it's not that. What is going on, as normal rental movies record perfectly via and through a Copy Mate Converter. But these imported DVD titles will only play in black and white, and is driving me mad .

CONNECTION USED: Scart to Scart Connection Via AV Channel.

DVD PLAYER USED: Philips DVD 612S ( PAL Format Only )

VIDEO RECORDER: JVC VHS 5 Head PAL Machine.

SUGGESTIONS: There must be something out there that I can purchase, or something someone could point out I am doing wrong. The actual setup I use might be at fault also, but to date, I am going butt crazy trying to find an answer.

If anyone reading this has come across simular DVD import transfer to video problems, or could offer a reasonable suggestion to solve this current matter, then you will be top of my christmas card list for ever.
