i must write them down.
lets talk about premiere 6 or 6,5
this software is not free and quiet expencive
and..
it doesnt handle MPEG2 high resolution files.
when convert PICVideo MJPEG avi files to DivX the result is jerky in motion, seems like there is one frame missing every 1 second.
it takes at least 4 times longer time than any other freeware soft to convert, anyformat to anyformat.
it produces VCD,SVCD files with the worse quality than any other software.
it the heaviest editing software around, memory killer.
its not fair that you have to pay for crap like this when briliand softwares like Virtualdub are free.
what makes me angry is that this unbelievable company "adobe" still exists....

It makes you angry? Then don't buy it.
I happen to think it's the greatest video editor I've ever used. Yes it's expensive, but it will give prfessional looking video if you know how to use it.
I think Adobe Photoshop is the best image editor if you know how to use it. Premiere is to video what Photoshop is to images. Premiere wasn't designed to handle MPEGs, it was designed to edit AVIs. Unless you're working with AVIs, look elsewhere.Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -

I've just used premier to edit my home movie with picture in picture and other great feature. And when authored to DVD at 8000kbps the picture quality and playback we fine. Could I have done this with VirtualDub? No because the two are completely different programs to be used for different purposes.
Compare Premier to Vegas Video or Pinnacle Edition as these are aimed at the same market. Premier is not the right tool to convert between video files.
Lets face it I could say VirtualDub is crap cos it won't convert to MPEG2. Instead I use TmpEnc. You've got to use the right tool for the job.
Just my 2p worth! -
There is no reason Premiere should be able to edit mpeg's. MPEG is not designed to be an editable codec. It is designed to be used for final output.
Premiere is an incredibly powerful tool, but it's a tool for a specific purpose. Saying it's a bad program b/c it doesn't edit MPEGS, is like saying a hammer is a useless tool b/c it doesn't work well with screws.
My 2 cents. -
.............. is like saying a hammer is a useless tool b/c it doesn't work well with screws.
