  1. I have burnt VCD's using Easy CD creator and as well as Nero. I have authored using Adobe and Ulead. I have created about 40 plus coasters, but once, only once got ONE file that never jumped or was jittery when played on my JVC VCD player......and why I could never tell....so can anyone, ANYone out there please tell me, is it a ram/pc/media/burning or what problem. All of the source files play perfectly on PC, the burnt disc also plays well enough in the pc CD rom drive (although there is sometimes a slight skip here and there.....), but just try it on the VCD player.....bloody embarassing. Can someone, anyone give me a clue?? Any clue>>>>

    Clue #1 Try another player.

    Clue #2 Try different media.

Clue #3 Try different bit rates.

  5. I finally had a great discovery. I was capturing video from my hi8 camera as interlaced. I would then use tmpgenc and deinterlace video (even) option because I could see combing lines on the computer screen. After I would burn the svcd it would always be jittery. I finally tried not deinterlacing the video. It would be combing on my computer screen but it would play just fine on my 32" tv.

When I would deinterlace it would look good on the computer screen but terrible on tv. When I just encoded it as interlace it would comb on the computer screen but look great on tv.

By the way I have a jvc dvd also

  7. Sorry, been away....Yes I am encoding my own video's...in fact creating video's from say 3 or 4 *.dat files (i.e VCD karaokes) by pulling them into Ulead and say mising them together, then creating video file using the PAL VCD template in Ulead. I also use jpegs/bmp's to create karaoke's with music and subtitles.

In the mean time I will try to reverse the field order, change the media etc.

  8. It's normal for it to look bad on the computer, but good on the TV when it's interlace, unless you view it on the computer with PowerDVD. When you deinterlace, it will look ok on the computer, but will look worse on your TV, as you cut out half of the information. Besides reversing the field order, try TMPGenc's inverse 32 pulldown when encoding. That will make it look better on both your TV and computer, and you don't need to deinterlace then. I would still reverse your field order, as jumping usually means that's wrong.
