  1. I ripped the menu VOB off the DVD. Next i created a *.d2v file using DVD2AVI, of the menus. I'm told that the next step is creating a AVI file so Virtual Dub will accept the file. After that i know what to do (save frames as *.bmp files, etc...).
I'm in pretty good shape for getting this all done, but i'm stuck at the part where you have to create an AVI file for Virtual Dub to work with. In DVD2AVI I click :File-Save AVI: next i have to chose a video compression. Because i don't know what i'm doing, i choose No Recompression. It creates an AVI file in about 2 seconds, that has a file size of "0". When i open that AVI in virtual dub, i get an error saying "Can't Read AVI, the file is empty"
Can someone please help me with creating that AVI file?
    Thanks!

  3. Or if you want an AVI of it really bad, choose Save Project in DVD2AVI instead of Save AVI, and save the .d2v file. Then open VFAPI and convert it to a 'fake' AVI, which Virtual Dub will nonethless read.

  4. I don't think i can save as bmp/jpg using TMPGEnc. The only "open" i can do is "open project" and when i try to open the d2v file, i get an error saying "Illegal Stream Format." I've also looked around TMPGEnc, and i don't see any options to save as bmp/jpg. I'm using TMPGEnc Plus 2.53.
    Thanks!

That's exactly what i need to do! Is VFAPI a different program? I have a VFAPI plug-in for DVD2AVI, but i'm not sure if that's what you're talking about. How do i open the VFAPI?
    Please let me know!
    Thanks!
