  1. Hi all,

Today i tried making my very first SVCD using iAuthor. Using iAuthor wasnt a problem since i followed the simple step by step guide at VCDHELP.COM. However the problem im having is getting the dam SVCD to burn properply. I have successfully created the cif* image file which i then load into nero. Nero shows me a 'Foriegn image settings'(block size, type of image, raw data,...) dialouge box which i have never seen before. After that when i click on ok another dialouge box comes and says 'the eneterd block size does not correspond.......'. Can someone please tell me the right way in burning these SVCDS. I tried Adaptec but that piece of bull did not recognise my recorder. Thanks

I cant help you with I-Author, but I do want to bitch:
Simply titling your post "Can someone help me..?" is not helpful on a site called vcdHELP. We're here to help! So tell us briefly in the title what it is you want help with. For future. Okay?

Convert .cif to .bin/.cue with CDmage.

Burn the image with CDRWIN, Fireburner or NERO (load the .cue)

The i-Author made cif file is an image file made for the Adaptec EZ CD burning software. You can use VCDGear to extract the mpeg or use CDMage where you could (I think) convert the image by loading it and then saving it in an Nero image (*.nrg) format.

  5. Extracting the MPEG would defeat the purpose of using I-Author.

You can use Easy CD Creator to burn CIF images (CIF is the Easy CD Creator proprietary disc image).

Or, as others have mentioned, you can use CDMage to convert the CIF image into a CUE/BIN and use CDR-Win or Fireburner to burn your image.

I would suggest that you give up on Nero for this as Nero can not burn CIF images and does not burn CUE/BIN images properly either.
