  1. Why is it that a perfectly working copy of CD creator 5.0, upgraded to 5.02, can all of a sudden start sending you error messages for no apparent reason.

I have scoured these boards for an answer to this problem, but to no avail.

When loading an mpeg file to the vcd creator the error message comes up...

vcdr32 has caused an error in mfc42.dll
vcdr has caused an error in database.dll

The funny thing about these messages is that they came after loading an mpeg in to the start sequence..when I went to load the next file..it froze, and has been freezing EVERY time since....
I have completely removed and reinstalled the program...guess what..yep same problem!

I know this won't be much help, but I'd ditch the Roxio software all together and download a copy of Nero. It burns everything you throw at it and I've never had a problem. Everyone I know that has used Easy CD Creator 5.0 and up has had problems with it. You don't have to take my word for it, just log on to Amazon.com and look thru the product reviews for it.

    MYB420 . . .

I agree with Kayfam - ditch Roxio (which gave me no end of grief under XP) and use Nero. Never had a coaster prob with Nero (except DON'T use the mpeg re-encode routines in Nero - they suck bigtime).

Easy CD Creator is not compatable with XP. So that could be the problem and if it is get rid of it NOW or you may be talking to microsoft on the phone for 2 hours to fix your computer. The easy cd creator XP patch doesn't work for. I had a problem with easy cd creator 5 platinum. I use Record Max and CD mate and they both work just as good as easy cd. Never used before Nero but it is free and the other one's aren't.
