I wanted to author a movie I have made onto VCD. I have the actual movie which is a non-standard vcd at variable 1150-2000kbps. I also have about 2 hours worth of other video on the disc, also non-standard but encoded with variable 300-500kbps. Aside from the video, I also have 4 menu pages that are set to mpeg size 220kb, still type is VideoCD 2.0 and NTSC. I have made these menus with VCDEasy's built in mpeg still maker from bmp files. I have burned the VCD onto an RW disc for testing purposes. I tried playing it using PowerDVD 4, and everything plays perfectly, however, when I play the disc in my standalone dvd player, the videos all work fine, but the menus are all scrambled. The menu options work (previous, next, numbers), but just the picture is messed up. I have never had any problems playing VCDs or XVCDs with my standalone player, even when using RW discs. This is the first VCD I have made using VCDEasy, Previously I have used WinOnCD.
I have a JVC XV-521 DVD player.
