Can I rip a dvd to my hard drive with a cd burner or do I need to have a dvd-rom?

uggg not this question again. If you could put a DVD in a CD ROM why in the world they make DVD ROM in the 1st place. No you can NOT rip a DVD with a CD ROM drive.

Everybody asks that question when they get into this stuff!
A generic DVD ROM can be picked up for around $30.
