The simpsons Season 2

Living in the UK I am used to having to wait up to several months for DVD realeases on region 2, after they have been released on region 1. I was therefore surprised to find that the simpsons season 2 has already been released in the UK and is not due for release on region 1 until 6th August. Anyone know the reasoning behind this, particularly as it is an American show.

Seems to be a trend happening now a days that other regions i.e 2 & 4 are getting some stuff before Region 1. Who knows why, might be used as a testing ground to determine whether the product will sell or not and whether they need to improve it before they release it in Region 1.

Isnt't it mostly because of syndication. Not sure if that is the case for just the latest simpsons but for most others.

Yeh that could be the reason behind the TV shows but also a lot of movies are going to other regions first especially box sets i.e Back to the Future
