  1. I know there aren't many of us that own this player, but has anybody been able to successfully play non-standard resolution VCD or SVCD on this thing?

It handles non-standard bitrates fine, but can't play anything but 480x480 for SVCD and 352x240 for VCD. You can deviate SLIGHTLY, but for all intents and purposes it chokes on non-standard resolutions - video playback is all garbled, although audio is fine.

The odd thing, which I just noticed tonight, is that video looks fine in FFWD or REW mode (2x, 4x, etc.). I don't know if that means there is hope or not.

Just figured I'd ask you all before I end up selling it and getting a Pioneer...

    Thanks......................
