  1. hey! i got Ice Age from Kazaa. Now i want to burn it on a CD! Its at 20 FPS, i can watch it on my PC. and its in MPEG layer 3. I tried everything on TMPGEnc, but it says the file can not be opened or is not supported(its in . avi). I do have Divx codec 3.11a, 4, and 5.0.2!

You may have some codec's but not the one needed for Ice age, probably MPEG-4 V2,3,4 "Mpeg4 Codec.exe" on Kazaa

    "Mpg4c32.dll" "mpeg4fix.inf"

Or install the Nimo Codec pack, that has that and a lot more.

  4. Then you will have to reencode that avi file to mpeg-1 format for it to work in TMPEG....

The reason compudude2002 wants to load his avi file in TMPGenc is to encode it to mpeg1 compliant vcd (thats the main point of TMPGEnc), if it was in this format already there would be no need for him to open the file in TMPGEnc.

Cant find something ? What is something ? its probable looking for a dll thats not on your system, run it again and find out exactly what its called, and re-make the file using notepad, this will food it and it should continue to install.

As I said above you probably need "Mpeg4 Codec.exe"

  8. hey. i got it. i had a worm nfecting my comp so my HD wouldnt open NIMO! but i got the VCD burned, thanks all!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. the worm was probably acquired during your "visit" to kazaa. I have heard some bad things regarding kazaa (viruses, movies not being what is stated, etc.)

I don't want to start yet another bitch session here regarding IRC vs kazaa vs. edonkey, etc. I just wanted to point out that a lot of users of kazaa have complained about viruses.

Viewers of this post: please don't respond with "I have used kazaa and never had a problem". It will only instigate a ten page thread of kazaa vs IRC, etc.

If you don't want people to comment on your remarks about Kazaa why make them in the first place. ?

I am sure there are plenty of contaminated files out there which people don't know they have.

I use Kazaa regular, yes there are fake movies, yes there are files with Virus's JUST LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE !

  12. Flump,

I would recommend not using nero's converter for the conversion of AVI to MPEG to play on a stand alone DVD player. From my own experience and from review of other posts, The free Tmpgenc software would give you a better final product than nero's VCD (or SVCD or DVD) plugins.

  14. I had heard from a number of people that kazaa has had issues with viruses, etc. and chalked the virus that you received up to receiving it from kazaa. Of course you will hear opposing views (even unsolicited).

How is the quality of the copy?
