  1. Hi all,
As a newbie here, of couse I could not get the process to work fully,to make my first VCD

I used SmartRipperPro to rip, ,DVDx2.0 to encode to MPEG1's , and VCD easy, for Black hawk down.
    I ended up with 2 meg1
    files
    none.mpeg and none2.mpeg

after entering all the correct settings for VCD easy I was able to get through everything but the actual "Burn"
I have copied and pasted everything that popped up, before clicking OK
    below is the list.
    "Internal Xml Generation" execution succeeded.
"VCDxBuild.exe" execution succeeded. finished O.K., image created with 293914 sectors[65.18.64]
    "CDRDAO Disk Info" execution succeeded.
"CDRDAO Write" execution succeeded. Simulation finished successfully
"CDRDAO Write" execution failed Cannot determine status of inserted medium writing failed.
or"CDRDAO Write execution failed medium is not large enough at 0.00.00(0x00000)

    I am using Maxell 700MB 80min CD-R's and RW's brand new.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Dagrafixman,

do a search (http://www.google.com) and find out if
your brand/model of cdrw burner is supported by CDDAO
and if so, what force settings are necessary.

CDDAO btw is a DOS app that VCDEasy throws in to
burn VCD's directly. You do not have to use it; instead
change settings to create a .bin .cue which you can then use
on other cdrw burning software (eg: fireburner) .

I had a simular problem. Use VCD Easy to Make Bin/Cue as prev poster said. I had trouble burning the bin/cue with my burner which is an old 2x Speed Burner. The only burning program I could get consistant success with was XDuplicator (there is a link unter the Tools section of this Web Site.
