Hi, I have a Sony Hi8 handycam and need an external Mic for better audio quality. The problem is that is has NO Hot Shoe attachment. The only plug in I see is a red mini jack labeled, "MIC (PLUG IN POWER)" I would like a fairly inexpensive one, and one that is good for a variety of purposes. Are there any review sites? Any suggestions on type of Mic?
Thanks
-Chris

Try B&H. They have a good selection of stuff. It's at least worth a look to see whats out there. You don't need a hot shoe for many mics. Athough It is a cool thing to have.
