Greets,
Strange thing today... I abandoned TMPGENC for only the transcoding process when ripping DVDs. I got rempeg instead.
I did a transcode, and all of a sudden, none of my video files had any color in them. To make matters worse, I assumed it was a bad video rip, so I deleted the ripped VOBs... so I have no new info on that. However all my other videos are playing in black and white, even though the thumbnails are in color.
Anyone ever heard of this? Is this a weird problem with the mpeg2 codec that rempeg is using?

I've never had any luck with Rempeg2. I mainly use Rempeg2 to see what the average bitrate is in vob streams. I would just stick with Tmpeg.

Update:
F'kin STRANGE.
I rebooted, and color came back in all applications.
Did another rempeg job, and.... black and white video!!!! Thumbnails are all in color, videos play without color in WMP and PowerDVD.
Rebooted, and the job rempeg just did is now viewable in color. So that's a relief.
Anyone who can tell me how to correct this silliness is the VCDHELP HERO OF THE DAY!!!!!
Critical data:
ATI AIW 128 pro (yeah, I know)
