  1. whenever i play a subbed vcd in my dvd player the edges of the video get cut off and i get subtitles that don't fit on my screen. (eg if the text is 'so i blah blah' i just see 'o i blah blah'. i've tried playing these vcds on 2 different tvs and dvd players and both have the same problem. i've also tried burning with nero and vcdeasy. when i play a subbed vcd in my computer the subtitles come out fine and nothing is chopped off, it only happends when i try to play it through a dvd player on tv.

    can anyone help me?

    All TVs has some overscan(cuts the image a bit) so when makeing VCD with subs you must be sure to move them high enough(if you are making them).

    Search for overscan in this forum for more info.

    I had the same problem. You need to decrease the image by 10% but keep the overall canvas size the same. You will end up with a thick border around the image. Colour this to match the menu and it will be displayed fine on your TV. Best to use photoshop for this.

    Heres how :

    Start photoshop and load your image
    Click on Image at the top and select canvas size
    width = 10 percent
    height = 10 percent
    tick the relative box
    click the centre of the grid
    ok
