Hi All,
Just wondering, when I use smart ripper i get a ripping speed of exactly 2.0 constant. How come it is so slow? i thought this drive was like 6x dvd read? Takes like 40 mins to rip a whole dvdI mean i'm not that bothered by it, just wondering.
Thank in advance.

Yep, 2X is about all you are going to get from this Pioneer. Don't know why... mine does it this way, too. I rip my DVDs from another Pioneer, a 305S.

I think the 6X spec is only for single layer dvd roms. Try a single layer movie and you should get close to 6X towards the end.

Even thought under the pioneer's specs list is says that 6x is CAV achieved. But running many tests....it appears that 6x is achieve through Zone-CLV. So basically reading the last 1min of the dvd disc I see the read speed get from 5.96x~6.03x. And that's the end. I with if it was true CAV achievement, it would start at 6x and end my 6x. Doh
