I read somewhere on here a while back that there were better SVCD and VCD templates to use with TMPGEnc besides the defaults.
Anyone suggest particular ones and a place/way to get them?

At the risk of sounding stupid or corny: Don't f**k with the templates (by unlocking them) unless you HAVE to. Just set the motion search precision to highest for all types of disc and for (X)SVCD determin the max bit rate of your playback machine and use that in 2pass VBR if it high enough (say over 3500 kbps). Otherweise use CQ with 100% quality.
IF there are third party templates then the must rely on what you can achieve manually in TMPEGenc anyway.
