Some people swear by them, many people swear at them. I've had one for years and while it does a decent job, I have done primarily short captures of 15 minutes or less. A few months ago I needed to capture a whole VHS movie (it ignores Macrovision) and the sound became way out of synch with the video.

If you order one, make sure you can return it at no charge.

  3. Hello..My first post to the forum..Mostly trying to learn about this overwhelming obsession... But, as for Dazzle, I have the DV Creator,
and I did have lots of problems with the audio and video out of synch.
There is a download that corrected it for me, tho. There is also a new Dazzle unit that is supposed to be really great, but I have not had hands on it. The Dazzle comes with Movie Star which is a watered down version of Adobe Premiere. I had problems with it, but I have not given up on it. My problems could have been me.. I am a newbie and I am impatient. I have several friends who have Dazzle and love it, so while I am not completely answering your question with a YES or NO, I have provided a bit of the pros and cons. I really like the video capture section and it does work after the upgrade I got. There is an easy interface with options to record or produce your work..VCD, DVD, TV quality, Web quality, etc. Lots of adjustments for editing.. The Dazzle I have was $200..not sure what the new model will cost. Good luck!
