Hi everyone
I'm totally a newbie, and i dont even have a dvdrecorder yet..but im buying one soon ..i'll buy the pioneer A04 ...i like to do alot of research and read reviews before buying anything....
very interesting and extensive information provided by you guys...this is the best site and forum i think ...
i read alot of reviews about the DVD-R ...now i know why some dvd-r medias are cheap and some are expensive...
the speed doesnt matter to me ..1x or 2x ....
i found several link for companies selling dvd-rs cheap ..and the brand names such as pioneer or tdk are expensive...of course you get what you pay for with them ..
but its always good if you pay cheaper and u get the same quality ..
anyways
these are some links to dvd-rs that i found cheap on the net...
it would be good if some of you review it and comment on it ...that would be great .
http://store.yahoo.com/meritline/dvdrblankmedia.html (cheapest dvd-r $1.19)
http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/dvdr.html (cheapest dvd-r $1.20)
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=146&manufactory=1567&DEPA=1 (optodisc brand, $2.00)
http://www.supermediastore.com/dvdmedia.html (DVDPRO brand, $1.09 ea) (Ritek brand, $1.29)
these are the cheap ones i found ...(under $4) ...so it would be great if anyone rates it and if they know about them, comment on them ...
Thanks everyone ...

I here alot of those are very cheap made and are made in China, so its taking a chance with them I have the Panasonic Home DVD recoder DMR E-20 and wanted cheap DVD-R's also but after reading most revews I decided to stick with something local.
Now I have found good quality off brands locally.
CompUSA brands sell for $3.99 and offer a 1 year exchange warranty on their DVD-R's.
Fry's Electronics sells the Store brand GQ in 5 packs on sell for $19.95.
I personally like the CompUSA better and have used 25 so far without 1 failure.
I did buy their DVD-Rams also for $6 and had one fail and they exchanged it without a problem and the DVD-Rams come with a life time exchange warranty, I think their DVD-RW and DVD+RW do also.
CompUSA had just dropped all their brand name DVD prices recently by $2-3 and said they may drop again in a few months.
I even got TDK's on sell at COMPUSA for $4.49 each and thats really good for a name brand even the net can't touch that price for a name. brand. -
