  1. Just wondering if anyone else has tried to cut Spiderman. When I try to cut it with TMPGE at about 1 hour into it and hit run it only does about 2 minutes worth. I'm a newb at this so it's probably just me but if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

You need to re-encode the mpeg with TMPGEnc mpeg in > mpeg out

There is a fault in the mpeg, cut/merge uses streaming and TMPGEnc wont be able to get past the fault. Re-encoding with the latest version of TMPGEnc should fix the fault, then you can split it later.

here's what I did to get it to work. Come to think of it, I answered this on a thread in just the last couple of days....As newbies, be sure to search the archives!!! But I'll answer anyway, its Friday, its 80F for two days in a row for the first time since April and I'm ready to go home....

Use DVD2AVI and treat the three 'SVCD' files like the VOBs from a DVD rip. Then you can use TMPGenc to cut or reincode as you like. I ended up reincoding to VCD to create a 1.2gb file and used the cut tool to put it on two CDRs. Slick as can be.

DVD2AVI: 5-10 mins, creates *.d2v (video) and *.mpa (audio) for source
TMPGenc: 8hr, reencode to MPG1 VCD with noise (might have done without), sharpen and simple color filters on. The copy I got was 20fps so I used NTSCFilm template for my VCD. Gives a 'skip' of about 1/2 - 1 second every now and then but it was bearly noticeble.

    Have a good one,

Load TMPGEnc and hit the browse button at video source and select the mpeg, as if it was a AVI, then load a SVCD / VCD template, and hit run.

    TMPGEnc should handle the fault
