  1. Ok i'm kind of in a bind here, so maybe someone can help. My computer just totally crashed the other day and I've kind of lost my windows 98 cd, so I can't reinstall. I, however, do have a windows me cd from another computer, but i'm having a little problem with it. This cd is for a gateway computer and it won't let me install win me to my comp. Is there anyway I can get it to install on my computer? Thanks for any help.

  2. i actually ran in to this once... basically what i did was pulled the harddrive from the crashed comp, formatted it on the gateway, began installing 98se on the gateway, and on the first reboot i pulled the drive and took it back to my other comp and let it finish the install.. seemed to work out fine.. the only real snafu was that i had to go to the safe mode device manager and take everything out and have it detect the correct hardware.. but aside from that it worked out okay..

I've used Win98SE, Windows ME, and Windows 2000.

I also think you should burn your copy of Windows ME. Try Windows 2000 instead.

I agree with this one. Burn Windows ME and try Windows 2000. Windows Me is full of bugs and problems, errors, errors and more errors with so many problems and faults.

Microsoft hotfixes the problem. A lot of errors in this computer are now rectfied. No problems lately, it is OK now.

I will have to replace WinMe one day into Windows 2000. With NTFS drive will see an improvement. Much better than FAT32 with a limit of 4GB.

Well I have XP and I don't know what they are talking about

I got an APSI layer easly. Took more time to reset than to install.

I can't add IDE devices but all mine work fine.

Again, I don't have problems with video capture.
