  1. I have ripped a movie with DVDx1.6 to vcd and svcd. The results are 2 mpeg-files for vcd and 3 mpeg-files for svcd. Then I burned a vcd and a svcd with Nero 5.5.8.2.
I tried to watch the result on my Pioneer Ns-DV88. This dvd-player is vcd and svcd compatible. But when I try to watch de result, I don't see or hear anything. In the display I see ticking the seconds very fast. But no movie !
    What is the problem ?

  2. 1) Did you use nero's VCD/SVCD template (as necessary)?

    2) Can you play the VCD/SVCD w/ media player?

  3. Yes, indeed.
I can play the mpeg-files with for example windvd of interplayer.
I burned the vcd and svcd with Nero 5.5.8.2 included the svcd-plugin. I did this with the wizard of Nero.

does your player maybe support CDR but not CDRW or the other way around? Consult your manual. Is it maybe a PAL/NTSC issue--you have one, but the player or TV can only handle the other?
Have you played other VCDs/SVCDs on this player before?
    --on CDR or CDRW?
what are you askin' me for...

  5. My dvd-player is a Pioneer NS-DV88 and this one is capable to play vcd and svcd. I already played a vcd and it worked well. I know for sure that it playes cd-r and cdrw too.
I don't know what the problem is. Could it be the menu that I made with Nero ? Could it be the capacity of the cd-r and must this be max. 74 minutes ?

  6. I use Nero 5.5.8.2 and the svcd pluging. I did the whole proces again but no result. Now I didn't use the menu-generator of Nero. My dvd-player telss me that I use a "cd" in stead of a "vcd". Is there another program that can burn mpeg-files to vcd or svcd ?
