Mosaic cuts and joins with TMPGenc

TMPGenc seems to do cut & joins with mosaic transitions, indicating that TMPGenc is not cutting & joining on I-frames. Is this true? Any way of forcing I frame cutting with TMPGenc?

Its my understanding that even cutting & joining on I frames gives mosaic transition if your video has open GOP. Again, is this true?

Anyone know of any software to convert from open to closed GOPs? (short of transcoding with TMPGenc)

Has anyone got the ear of Hori San to add clean transistions to the wish list of TMPGenc. It contains all the functionality I need, without being bloatware (like Ulead's products!) with a really simple interface.

A further thought on this, TMPGenc could be improved by displying the GOP structure in front of, behind and at the current frame, like this for example

in the "Files"/"MPEG Tools"/"Merge & Cut"/"Edit" Menu

The cut position could then be moved forward by 4 frames to cut on an "I" frame and avoid blocks at the join.

Seems a simple modification or is there something I don't understand about TMPGEnc.

Could this be forwarded to Hori San by some one who knows him?
