I'm trying to decomb a "hybrid" video stream. By hybrid I mean some portions are interlaced and some telecined. I've tried using a smart deinterlacer in virtualdub and also tried the Field Deinterlace and Telecide functions in the decomb plugin for avisynth. The Field Deinterlace function gives good results during the interlaced parts but questionable results during the telecined parts. The Telecide function does the same thing except the results are flip-flopped. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get good results for both combing types?
The Field Deinterlace function says something about an option which will only decomb those frames which it sees as combed. What is this option? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Thanks.
