Hi, I am trying to rip a DVD with just the movie and put it on a DVD-R. I rip the DVD and use IfoEdit to take out all the useless streams. At the end I click on get VTS Sectors and the files are done. This is what I have left in my folder that I did everything in. I get:

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB

This works on PowerDVD when I play it. But I'm just wondering that dont I need a "VTS_01_0.VOB" file. All the DVDs I ripped have one. If I burn these files will the DVD play in standalone?

  2. if it playback on power dvd then it should work under a home unit ( you can always check on a dvd-rw for good measure ).

I have a DVD-RAM/R writer and can only write on DVD-R and DVD-RAM. So I want to make sure before I waste another DVD-R. IF anyone has tried this before let me know if it worked.

I believe the VTS_01_0.VOB files contain the menus.

  5. Leebo is right the VTS_01_0.VOB contains the menu, so if you stripped the menu's you don't need it. I also rip a lot of DVD's, I strip the menu's and extra's and the audio steams i don't need and i always end up without the VTS_01_0.VOB

    Greetings,

    Henk-Jan
