I'm having the old queasiness that all buyers get when they are ready to make a decision on buying a pricey item. My choices have came down to these two DVD players - Panasonic RV-31, or the Pioneer 444.

The reason I chose both of these is for their high ratings in the compatibility list, and few user problems. Now, I need for the users of both DVD players to give me the Pros and Cons of each player, and at least give me a reason why i should buy that player.

Obviously, each player can play DVD's, VCD's, SVCD's XVCD's, MP3's, and play all of the (videos) with great picture quality if the right settings are made. Plus, they both have great features. Now, the last thing that is hassling me is user feedback.

So please, fill me in on any problems and solutions that you've had with either player.

Once again, sorry for the post that you all hate so much. But, I had to come to the experts.

And yes, I have read over the compatibility lists' ratings and feedback.

Also, I do not have a TV that supports Progressive Scan at the time being. Perhaps, sometime in the future I will.
