I too had the same problem. I emailed them and they had me turn on analyze MPEG. I did and it still didn't work. What Type of player are you using? I tried it on both a JVC and APEX.

  4. I had same problem with VCD stills. Maybe a bug in program, but played ok with WinDVD in my computer. I also made an SVCD slide show with VCDEasy, but on my player (Samsung DVD-V1000) it only showed the first image and then would stop. Again this disk played fine on my computer. I ended up buying Ulead DVD Pictureshow, and this works reasonably well, although I cannot get beyond the first menu page.

I don't know much about the Thompson DVD players, but I am wondering if the "stills" work in 1.0.9 at all. I am currently using TMPGEnc to do my stills until i see posts saying that VCDEasy is either fixed or what I did wrong since i don't have the time to troubleshoot the problem.

Just a follow up on this. VCDEasy has a new set of "Beta" MJPEG tools. This corrected the output of the stills for both my JVC M567 and my Apex 1500.

Follow the instructions at the site.

  7. The MJPEGtools creation of stills (and hence VCDEasy creation of stills) is a work in progress (being open source). It is, however, the closest thing to real open source freeware creation of stills.

The TMPGEnc method DOES NOT create real MPEG stills and have a habit of not working on some players too.

If you want certainty, you can create REAL MPEG stills (for VCDs only) with VCD Toolkit. This tool has been released for free and works well. As this program was partly developed by Philips (who had a heavy hand in the development of the VCD specs), the MPEG stills it creates will definitely work (if not, your player is at fault!).

You can find a guide of this here:
