    Read somewhere on these fourms a while back that the new Sonys with the Percision drive 2 was quite nice, anyone else try any of these?

    I'm mainly interested in DVD-R playback but I still have quite a few VCD and SVCD movies....

    For compatability whats the best?

    OH yeah: I currently have an Apex AD-1500 and while it plays all this stuff it seem to not have the highest compatibility with the cheaper DVD-R media...

    I am aware of that section and it does answer some of my questions, I was just polling for any other personal info on how well it deals with the cheaper DVD-R disk such as Vivastar or Cd-recordables, or even princo disk.
