burning music videos

Does anyone know how to record music off of the music channels on cable tv and convert them to a format so that i could store them on my hard drive, and then burn them onto vcd using as little space as possible on my hard drive?

Yes, but you will need a capture card. Some capture cards will capture avi files which you will then have to convert into mpeg files, other cards can capture directly into mpeg1 or mpeg2 format, so that the need for further processing is not necessary.

or u can do what i do, download the videos already recorded off irc it will save u lots of money cuz u wont have to buy a capture card
