I have a frien who bought about 500 DIVX discs for like $100. He wants to know if he can either MOD the DIVX player he has or get at the video some other way.

I figure there has to be a way for him to watch those movies.

Ideally, on the set-top he has (old DIVX player) but even by ripping if necessary.

Can he use a program like smartripper with the old DIVX discs?
