Wharfedale 750 and SVCDs

I have a second generation Wharfedale 750.
Does anyone know whether it plays SVCDs.
The compatability chart seemed to be split YES/NO on this.
The machine does play VCDs.

The test SVCD download from this site works perfectly on my Wharfedale 750 - however, all other SVCD's lock up after a few secs. This leads me to believe that SVCD's can be played on the Wharfedale 750 (I have seen it done), but the encoding must be spot on for it to work. I will post again when I know more. All of the ones I have d/l'd freeze after a few secs, but I am not giving up hope yet.
