  1. I think Adobe has the most greates programs, but it is not clear to me what the difference is between After Effects and Premiere.
It seems to be that After Effects is more for advanced users. You simply can do more things with it, isn't it?

And what program of Adobe is a must too to make outstanding productions? I know that Photoshop is an absolute must, because with it you can make very nice titles that you can animate with Premiere. Or to make splitscreens, and to use the transparancy function of Premiere to a max. But I have heard that Illustrator is a must too, because with that you can make even better titles than with Photoshop.

btw. of course I would appreciate it if you give beside the name of a program, a short description of the program, and why it is so good to use making movies.

  2. Premiere is mostly for editing and basic transitions, you then bring it into afterfx for effects, color adjustment an such... a great tool for anyone who uses illustrator is streamline which get your bitmaps and makes them vectors...

But how would the ideal production look like?

    I have a movie,
I will go to Premiere and do the editing (is that impossible in AE?)
I also use motion settings to animate pictures made with Phtoshop

Step two is placing the movie in AE and at transitons and changing colors.
And than place a title made with Illustrator, and import pictures made with streamline that originally have been made with Photoshop.

Holy, I hope I'm not correct, but is this what I have to do? Or can I grow away Premiere and use AE? Because it seems that AE is a lot more comprehensive. So can I edit with AE as well?

  4. Well you can edit with ae but premiere is better suite to do editing and transitions...
don't use streamline unless you want to make somthing small bigger without pixelation probs, or for slight alterations of line art or such(it's not made for pictures, like illustrator it doesn't really do gradients well) illustrator can be used to make Titles but you have to render the image to bit map eventually.
Animating images made in photoshop is actually alot easier in AE, you might want to read up on nesting with AE.

    so basically:
1 Do title and such in photoshop(you can use illustrator also)
2 Edit and do transitions in premiere
3 import premiere file to AE do special fx and animation

    Hope that helps

btw why don't you post your edited movies?

  6. And then if you wanna make your video 100% professional-like, you may add 3DS MAX to create amazing effects, especially with the titles in the video (like 3D letters flying around and/or getting blasted into pieces). And then add them to your AE and Premiere projects. Anyway, that is what I do...
