how to convert at all?

i am so new at this! how do i convert files such as mp43 etc.. to mov? files that will play on my brother's mac OS 9.1 ? he dwnloaded the newest realplayer, windows for mac player and his quicktime player but none of them will play an mp43 or whatever and it doesn't seem like i can find any codecs that will patch to a mac! i can play them all on my windows system

well you can make them into vcds, or quicktime, or windows media.... vcd is easy to do and you can do it with tmpgenc or if you want small files you can do them with windows media encoder which is also free(i think there a link in the tools section)
