  1. Ok it seems everytime I try to Rip a DVD it never completes, it always gets to a certain percentage and slowly stops, its as if the A03 struggles to read the DVD, if you listen closely you can hear the drive trying to read the DVD, I've noticed when you first start ripping its all ok, its after about 30 - 50% I notice the percentage doesn't move or moves slowly to a stop.

    NOTE

This happens on must DVD's I try to rip but not all.

I've used some other ripping software and the same thing happens.

My Pioneer DVR A03 has the latest firmware 1.80

No software is running in the background when ripping

I was wondering if its best to buy a DVD-ROM drive to read the DVD's rather than using the pioneer A03, Mmmmmmm thinking about it though surely I shouldn't have to do that.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks Paul

  2. star....sorry to says this but firmware v1.80 dont seem to be working very well with a03/103, alot of people on dvd forum complains about it and there is no way you can go back to the older firmware version. just wait til pioneer release a newer and hopefully better version of thier firmware

im using 1.55 but i heard 1.68 is good too

  3. I use both the A03 and the 115 Pioneers for ripping, the A03 rips no problems yet, firmware is at 1.68 however and not 1.80. I use DVD Decryptor to rip 99% of my Movies ( using Smart Ripper for the ocassional odd movie ). I'll assume you have plenty of hardrive space set aside for ripping and though not necessary NTFS partions.
