  1. When I bought my Pinnacle System PCTV Pro card recently,I received the later V5.00 WDM drivers disk. Being a newbie to the whole videocapturing scene & seeing all these posts about VDub needing a VFW driver,I downloaded the older 4.2a drivers. There shouldn't be an incompatiblity issue, all of Pinnacle's info states the drivers are Windows 98 First Edition compatible,(With DirectX8.0a).

    Now I've read a couple of posts here talking about some sort of "wrapper" video utility in DirectX 8.1,(Which I have installed already for games), which allows Virtual Dub to use WDM driver-based capture cards for video-capture,(If I understood it correctly),but this seem more related to Win2K & XP issues.

    My questions are;
    1) Does this "Video-wrapper" thing in DirectX8.1 which allows the WDM driver-based cards to be used in VDub also apply to Win98 First Edition too? (ieirect X8.1,& Pinnacle' V5.x WDM drivers,& using VDub for capturing)?

    2) What are people's opinions,(Who own the PCTV Pro card),think of these later WDM drivers,as compared to the older V4.2VFW drivers? Anyone think they're better?
