    I have an ibook and the quicktime is too heavy for my system. Anyone knows a lighter , better or a faster decoder?

    How about Divx Player? You can dl it at http://users.pandora.be/divx/macdivx1b10.sit.bin. Remember though, Divx takes a lot of system resources by nature.
