  1. Ok here is a new one for me and boy do I need HELP!
First off I can't get the file to play with newly dowloaded divx 5.02

I went to extract fight club in vdub and here is messge that I got
    Avi import filter
    Reconstructing Missing index bock(aggessive mode)

after that was done here is the next message I got
Warning virtual dub has reconstructed the index for this file but you have not specified rekeying in the extended open option dialog seeking the file may be slow

My next step was to look at the file info
720x336 12,500 fps 80,000us(not sure what this is)
    5.02divx
there was no audio info at all

But I still extracted and now the audio size is expected to be 2,126.75Mb but it is going to take a while so I don't know if the wav file will even play?

any help would be greatly appreciated

From what I've found this is a corrupted AVI header on the movie - hence VirtualDub trying to reconstruct this on load - you may be able to do a direct stream copy to another file and save it that way but probably not.
I have not heard of the audio being corrupted before though so you may be lucky. But I would open the video again and as you do choose "popup extended open options" this opens up the "fix-it" opening menu click the "re-derive keyfram flags" - be aware this will take a looonnnggg time this may help you with the video but should not affect the audio.
    Hope this helps
