  1. Hi there
I just encoded something with TMPGEnc and the file is pretty cood quality now. Unfortunately, the source was about 2 hours and I did compress it to 198 % of disc capacity to make 2 SVCD's from it. Well, now I have this 1.4 GB File witch I don't seem able to split. TMPGEnc has in the MPEG Tools a Merge + Cut Options but I can't preview the MPEG2 with the Edit Button. Can any1 help me.
    Thanks

  3. You have to have a program that can read MPEG-2 files such as PowerDVD. If you install this, you can preview and edit MPEG-2 files.

I'm no expert but have just started doing DVD backups and I use BBMPG for muxing and it has an option where you can select the size required, i.e. a 74min CD-R will hold 740MB so you select that as the maximum. Depending on your MPEG2 filesize it will create a number of files that will squeeze as much as possible per CD. To use this method you will need to de-mux your MPEG2 first using TMPG. This may not be the best method but it works for me.

See the links section of this site and it will point you to where you can download BBMPG (freeware) and also there are links to free MPEG2 codecs that will allow you to view your MPG2 file in WMP.
