I need to upgrade my Pc becuase I have too long of encode times. I have a HP Pav 6300 350 MHz Pentium 2 with 256 MB SDRAM. I have been looking at PCs for a while but dont really want to shell out 900 bucks for a new HP.
I have been considering buying a barebones system (with mobo, p4 CPU, case, and sound card)
Does anyone have suggestions where to buy one of these cheap? I would like an Intel board but its is not required. Really just need a reliable mobo with no problems and at least 1.5 Ghz.

Ok first off check www.pricewatch.com , www.tigerdirect.com , and www.cnet.com although im sure there are some other good ones.Stay away from p4 it will cost you alot more instead get a AMD 1.7 xp or higher they are cheaper and better.
This is proboly a ice cream induced thought so i can not take no control for the above statment. :P -
jexster is right go to www.tigerdirect.com
They have great deals on kits and seprates as well.
They have two p4 kits right now $399 for 1.6 and $449 for 1.8 both with 40 gig harddrive, but they do have kits without harddrive (if your current one is big enough), both of these kits you have to add video cards, floppy, cd-roms,windows, and burners. They do come with keyboard ad mouse.
They have even better prices on amd 2.0 same features for $419
if you like you can even buy complete computers from them like
1.2 HP for $449 with burner.
Hope This Helps
