I was wandering why does it take so long to get things from Japan to the US? I'm particularly waiting for those new standalone dvd recorders w/ hard drives to come to the US and by the looks of it, it may take until January 2003. They've had the Panasonic E30 the replacement model for E20 since December and it still hasn't come out yet. Now I hear they have the New Toshiba RXd2 (I believe) out and the D1 hasn't come out to the US yet. It bothers me a little; I know the companies sucha as Pioneer and Panasonic, Sony are based in or near Japan and that it would seem logical to release it there first; however at the same time, there's a huge market over in the UK and especially US. Is it because there's no competition? I get excited hearing about all these goodies coming and sometimes they never come? Anyone have any ideas what the hold up is? I'm sure they want to make money right away. By taking too long, they lose potential sales to a company that comes out with a better product ie. in this case dvd recorders w/ hard drives now.
Thriving competion makes products better. I wish there was an american company that would give japanese companies some competition so that they would ship/make things faster over there![]()
