    what are these? so far all i've created is VCD's and SVCD's. am i missing something here. help this ol' novice guy out abit.

  5. He guy's I thought this was a help forum??? Your answer to your question is they are the same as vcd or svcd with a higher bitrate or sometimes lower bitrate in the case of svcd. Anything that is not the standard will be xvcd or xsvcd.

  7. xvcd & vcd are mpeg-1 and svcd & xsvcd are mpeg2. The vcd and svcd are the typical types. But you can do alot with the bitrate on vcd and svcd standards. I myself dont use the DIVX codec at all. I use higher and lower mpeg1 and 2 bitrates giving me the same if not better than DIVX with the same file sizes. And to all those diehard DIVX fans I do have samples of 1 disc VCDS that look just like DIVX movies . Although on these 1 disc vcds I do bump the audio to 128 kbs. I know I varied from the post a bit but I hope this helps.
