I've only used the card twice since I bought it a few months ago. My Sony DVMC-DA1 is handling the conversion chores for me and encoding times aren't much of an issue now that I have an AthlonXP 1800+.
Anyone interested?

TheInformer:
How good is the card? Can you get good MPEG-1 captures from old VHS tapes with it?
Thanks! -
The video you get when you tell the card to capture in VCD mode is, well, not so good. The card does badly at low bitrates.
However, when you crank up the bitrate the output does a 180 and is very good. The best idea would probably be to capture in SVCD (with an appropriately high bitrate) and use TMPGEnc to transcode to VCD.
