  1. I have been trying to convert an svcd movie to dvdr.
I merged all the discs together with TMPGenc to create one large mpeg-2 file and have been trying to Author using Dvdit.
When i go to burn it displays a message 'RESOLUTION NOT SUPPORTED'
So i did a little more research and was told that i had to change the bitrate and resolution before converting to dvd using 'DVD PATCHER'
The file was originally 480x576 and the recommended setting was 352x576 so i patched it to this.
When i ran the movie again i noticed hat half of the screen was corrupt..like lots of lines going accross half of the picture??
Can anyone tell me where i am going wrong ..i have been at this for nearly a week with no success...any help would be really appreciated..
    Thanks

  2. You have to patch it back before authoring the DVD. Otherwise, you'll get garbage. You only patch it long enough for the authoring program to accept it. If the authoring program "rechecks" before authoring, you're screwed and need to use another authoring program.

An alternative that works OK for me where I have to do this is to reencode the SVCD to 352 x 480 - you lose a little bit, but it's acceptable to me.

Even if the above trick works, there are probably some players that will not be happy with it.
    Good Luck
