I just started using it(mirc) and I only now figured out how to connect to a "movie" channel. I wont say which because I dont know if I'm allowed to here, so I will just say the prob. I logged in, I saw five other people there, I dont know what to do next, I just sat there for like 5-10 minutes like a dumbass and then logged off. How do you request a movie or any files?

Also, after logging off, for like the next hour I kept getting alerts from zonealarm telling me I was getting pings and TELNET requests, is that normal? Telnet? I know what it is but dont know why someone would try to connect to me that way, I never got a telnet ping before.

teaches u how to use fservers, chances are if your just starting out in mirc, these are the kinds of servers your going to be dealing with. As far as pinging goes, you do get lots being on mirc, but its something ive never had a problem with, no virus or trojan to date.
