Hey Guys,
Hope all is good with everyone. I had a quick question.
Yesterday I did a monster upgrade. Got a P 4 1.9 Gig'r. After 1 bad Asus board, finally got the dealer to give me one that worked. That was pain in the ass # 1. Now, after I have completed my redo, I noticed they gave me only a 256 k cached processor, rather than the 512 k cached one I ordered.
My questions is, how much of a performance difference could they have ? ms ? Is it worth it to go up and butt heads again, and then redo the thing again ?
Thanks Guys![]()

Don't know about the difference in performance, but what I do know is that if I ordered a chip with a 512k cache, and I only got 256k I would be pissed, and would demand that they rectified the situation immediately. Even if the difference in performance was negligable, it's the principle of the thing, you can't let them get away with it. As for the inconvenience to you, changing a processor is'nt too much of a big deal, just make sure they give you some free thermal paste.

Will do Bro.
There's not a big performance difference. I got a deal on the parts. 400 for a mother of an Asus board (up to 533 mhz) and the cpu, plus a 256 mb DDR for only 400.00. At this point, it may be more hassle than it's worth. TO be specific, the cost difference in the 2 cpus is like 20.00, plus the time to re-install and reset it up, after arguing with these guys over it, might not be worth the 20.00
I totally agree on the principle in the matter. I mean that does totally suck, but I'm thinking now in the grand scheme, in pushing that aside, and looking at it like 20.00, it's probably not worth all my time...
I appreciate and agree with your opinion Bro !!!!
Thanks~~~Spidey~~~
